Access to Information Review Task Force

External Consultations

In addition to inviting written submissions from the public, the Task Force is soliciting views from stakeholder groups on how to improve the Access to Information Act and its administration through a series of roundtable consultations.

The Public Policy Forum, a national non-profit, non-partisan organization with extensive experience in promoting multi-sectoral dialogue on a wide range of public policy issues, is convening the day-long roundtables on behalf of the Task Force in Ottawa this spring.

Public interest associations, the academic and legal communities, media, business, and others with an active interest or experience in the field of access to information, or in closely related governance issues, are being invited to participate in the roundtables. The Task Force consultation paper will inform the discussion at the roundtables.

For more information on the roundtables visit the Public Policy Forum's Web site.

Summaries of the roundtable discussions will be posted here as well as on the PPF Web site as soon as they are available. In addition, the Public Policy Forum will be preparing a final report on the issues and concerns raised at all of the roundtables. This report will also be available on-line.
