In 1999, a company I worked for received matching funds for a client for the development of their business plan.
The client signed the agreement to pay but decided later that they didn't want to pay after the work was done.
To prove our case, we need all of the documents submitted and received by the Farm Credit Corporation, most notably the agreement to abide by the terms of the matching funds agreement. This way, we can show that not only were they to pay the matching funds, but that they breached the contract with the Government of Canada.
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's claim is that they will not release the documents which implicate the client as it might be 'harmful' to the client.
Of course it would be harmful, it would show that they are a fraudulent
organization and should be exposed as such.
